ODD (Optical Disk Drive)
What is its purpose?
To read and write CD disks
How does it connect?
The ODD connects either by a IDE ( in older computers ) or SATA ( in most computers now )
Cost?
An ODD is about £15, while a Blue Ray player is considerably more
Brands?
The main brand that I can find is Samsung
Speed/Capacity?
The speed of an ODD is how fast it can read and write this is measured in times (Xs) for example a 12x disk drive.
Models / varieties/ types?
There aren’t really different models and varieties of ODDs but there is different types, there is the standard and blue ray.
Compatibility issues?
The compatibility issues for the ODD is if it has SATA or IDE connectors, you cant use IDE on SATA and vice versa.
