What is its purpose?
The motherboard is the centre of the computer; it is what
everything connects to.
How is it used within a computer system?
The motherboard is used within in a system to connect all of
the components together.
How does it connect?
The motherboard connects to everything via different ports
on the motherboard its self.
Cost?
Motherboards vary in price a low end one would cost about
£30 where as a high end one would cost £100 and above.
Brands?
The most popular brands are ASUS and Gigabyte.
Speed/Capacity?
The capacity for each motherboard varies e.g. one motherboard
could handle up to 32GB of RAM and 2 GPUs whereas another one might only be
able to support up to 16GB of RAM and 1 GPU.
Models / varieties/ types?
The different types of motherboard are ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX
and Nano ITX. For varieties and types there are too many to try and list.
Compatibility issues?
Motherboards only have compatibility issues when the
components going into them isn't the right one,
